Summary
I designed and built my professional portfolio website (monsonmedia.com) to showcase my creative work, professional experience, and personal projects. The site balances accessibility for potential clients and employers with the option to dive deeper into detailed portfolio case studies.

 

Context & Problem

As my body of work expanded — from freelance production to touring projects and nationally broadcast shows — I needed a central hub that presented my skills clearly without overwhelming visitors. The challenge was designing a site that:

• Highlighted my portfolio in a simple, visual way,

• Provided detailed case studies for those who wanted to explore further,

• Included a professional page dedicated to my education and work history.

 

Role & Responsibilities

• Concepted the website’s structure, navigation, and content flow.

• Formatted project case studies to give context, responsibilities, and outcomes.

• Collaborated to refine copy and structure for clarity and impact.

• Designed the homepage to showcase featured work while making deeper dives easily accessible.

• Created dedicated pages for portfolio projects, education, and professional work experience.

 

Process

• Brainstormed content hierarchy: homepage ➝ portfolio highlights ➝ detailed case studies.

• Designed layout on Wix (Unlimited Plan) with emphasis on visual presentation and mobile optimization.

• Iteratively refined copy, summaries, and project highlights to reflect both creative and technical contributions.

 

Solution & Deliverables

• A live portfolio website showcasing my work across music, TV, travel, and personal projects.

• Structured case study pages that provide in-depth looks at specific projects.

• A professional About page that doubles as a digital resume.

Reflection

Building my website was as much about clarity of presentation as it was about design. It taught me to think about how others perceive my work, not just how I create it. By combining visual highlights with detailed case studies, I created a tool that not only showcases my portfolio but also tells the story behind each project.
