Summary
I created OOT N’ ABOOT as a travel and adventure content project, producing YouTube videos, photography, and social media content that showcase new locations, cultural experiences, and the creative process behind exploration.

 

Context & Problem

I wanted to build a platform that combined my passions for travel, videography, and storytelling while also serving as a testing ground for new production workflows and content strategies. The challenge was to grow an independent project with limited resources while maintaining high production quality and consistency across platforms.

 

Role & Responsibilities

  • Conceived, planned, and executed all aspects of the project, from trip planning to final edits.

  • Shot and edited long-form YouTube videos and short-form content for Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube Shorts.

  • Captured photography for both promotional and artistic storytelling purposes.

  • Managed the project’s creative direction, branding, and release schedule.

 

Process

  • Researched travel destinations and built storyboards to shape episodes.

  • Filmed with Canon cameras, GoPros, and DJI Action Cameras to capture diverse perspectives.

  • Edited content in DaVinci Resolve with additional color grading and effects as needed.

  • Repurposed footage into platform-optimized content, scheduling consistent uploads.

 

Solution & Deliverables

  • Long-form YouTube episodes documenting travel and adventure experiences.

  • Daily/weekly social media posts (shorts, reels, and stories) designed for discoverability.

  • Behind-the-scenes content showcasing my creative process and gear setup.

  • A growing catalog of photography assets for personal and branded use.

 

Results & Impact

  • Built an independent travel/adventure content brand from the ground up.

  • Established a consistent publishing schedule across YouTube and social media.

  • Expanded my skills in branding, audience engagement, and cross-platform content distribution.

  • Positioned OOT N’ ABOOT for future sponsorships, partnerships, and monetization opportunities.

 

Reflection

OOT N’ ABOOT has been an opportunity to combine my creative passions with entrepreneurial vision. It has allowed me to experiment with storytelling formats, refine my production workflow, and build a personal brand that aligns with my love for travel and exploration. This project represents the creative freedom that fuels my growth as both a filmmaker and a content strategist.
