Case Study

Project/Role Overview

Position: Full-Time Employee

Role: Content Creator / Videographer / Photographer
Company: Strange Music Inc.
Date & Duration: April 21 - May 24, 2026

Summary

I worked as the primary videographer on the Strange Wid’ It Tour featuring Tech N9ne, E-40, and King Iso, traveling to 23 states and 27 cities across the United States

Context & Problem

A multi-artist tour means covering different performers with different stage presences and different needs, night after night, usually with limited setup time and no ability to reshoot. Strange Music needed consistent, usable content across the run — not just from Tech N9ne, but across the full bill.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Ran a one man operation filming and photographing live performances and meet-and-greets of Tech N9ne, E-40, and King Iso across 27 shows

  • Captured footage behind the scenes as the tour traveled across the United States

  • Managed media organization and asset delivery on a daily schedule while traveling

  • Worked independently alongside E-40’s videographer.

Process

  • Around 9am, I began the day with asset management, offloading media from the previous show, organizing & backed up media files, reviewing footage, highlighting usable footage, and cutting unneeded footage

  • Around noon, I would get lunch, then record daily content, like city shout-outs and the question of the day.

  • Around 3:30 pm, I prepared my Sony FX3 and Ronin for the meet and greet

  • At 4 pm, the meet and greet began, and I would film the crowd lined up, people buying merch, and reactions of people experiencing meeting their favorite artists.

  • Around 5 pm, we finished the meet and greet and ate catering for dinner.

  • Around 7 pm, doors would open, and I would film people coming in, buying merch, and finding their seats.

  • During show time, I started backstage as the artist prepared for the show, then moved on stage, and would then move all around the venue, capturing the whole environment

  • Pushed through constraints of touring like changing venues, no re-dos, editing wherever space permits, and generally living on a bus with 12 people

Deliverables

  • Video: Vertical 9:16 & 16:9 video in H.264 MP4 codec

  • Photo: Raw unedited ARW files

Results & Impact

  • Delivered live performance video and photo across all three artists, creating daily social content, weekly recaps, and various promotional content as needed.

  • Deliverables were posted on Tech N9ne’s, E-40’s, King Iso’s, and Strange Music’s social media profiles.

Reflection

This tour was an opportunity of a lifetime and happens to be my second tour with Strange Music. I kept on top of my work and did what I needed to do despite the stress of being away from home, living in unusual conditions, and technical difficulties. Waking up in a new venue sounds really cool, but it can be very easy to get sick living with so many people in such small quarters. Aside from general quality of life, working on the road has consistent technical difficulties because you have to look for power outlets and a stable internet connection wherever you go. Uploading large amounts of media online can take forever with services like Google Drive or WeTransfer, especially when connected to a mobile hotspot. Luckily, I combated this by always having an extension cord with multiple plugs and only transferring data that needs to be transferred. Overall, I’m proud of my work and that I got to be a part of a tour with Tech N9ne, E-40, and King Iso.
