UPDATE: The Freshside Grille mini site has been awarded my second “Adobe Site of the Day” award!

Well, I’ve wrapped up another mini-site with my team at Northlich. This one is for Long John Silver’s new healthier menu choices branded “Freshside Grille.” This was my first AS3 attempt so the code is not as efficient as one could hope, but it will only get better with time and learning.  This was also my first real implementation of Papervision3D, which was the main motivation to switch to AS3. But I’m glad I did because AS3 does have many superiorities to AS2.

Functionally, the site has simple submission forms, uses the MapQuest API and a super-slick YouTube implementation I mashed up from several code snippets.  I’ll probably post that source separately in a future post. There is also a Go Fish game which I didn’t code, but it’s cool none-the-less.

My role in this project was taking the concept and creating all of the artwork, and programming all of the Flash. A mighty undertaking, but it all worked out.  Check out the site at http://www.freshsidegrille.com (and try the Grilled Tilapia, it’s really good)!
