I’ve seen a few awesome uses of user photo upload functionality on viral sites like the McDonalds Face the Glory site from a few days ago. Three dimensional technology has been sneaking into flash sites more and more, specifically the Oddcast technology which maps a users uploaded photo to a 3D face model. This creates a great sense of realism with eyes and emotional expressions.
Well, I’ve seen it go to the next level now on the new Nokia 5320 promo site. You can upload your photo using the new component from Oddcast. This is an awesome 3D face implementation. I’m going to guess they’ve used Papervision3D or a similar script library. If you want to see a freakin’ sweet site, click the link!

Its very cool. Made by http://www.oddcast.com , not motion portrait.

You are right. I wasn’t clear in the post to the specific technology for the Nokia site. Thanks!
